This lovely wire-wrapped pendant is made with a polished Petoskey stone cabochon and faceted, gem-quality blue topaz stones, set in delicate, herringbone weaves and woven in oxidized Sterling silver wire. The wire was oxidized naturally with egg yolk, then hand-polished to an aged finish. This gorgeous, handcrafted piece, which comes suspended on an 18" Sterling silver chain. This is a large pendant, measuring 48x47x22mm (1.9" x 1.9" x 0.9") and is sure to attract compliments wherever you choose to wear it. Every Petoskey stone piece is unique so each pendant is one of a kind. Petoskey stone is fossilized coral (Hexagonaria percarinata) which inhabited the ancient shallow seas of northwest Michigan and it's upper peninsula more than 350 million years ago. Petoskey stones formed later on by glaciation; plucking bits of the fossilized coral from the bedrock and depositing them throughout the region. This piece comes in a luxurious, black velvet jeweler's box, contained in a cardboard outer shell (so you can wrap the box without damaging the velvet); perfect for gift-giving.
