Hollywood actor Rebel Wilson has won a significant defamation case against her co-star Charlotte MacInnes, marking a key moment in Australian entertainment law. The verdict clears Wilson of claims she defamed MacInnes in social media posts related to a sexual harassment complaint. This update also covers Brittany Higgins' criticism of Pauline Hanson's domestic violence remarks and a stunning Milky Way photo from China.
Rebel Wilson Defamation Case Outcome
Justice Elizabeth Raper ruled that MacInnes failed to prove serious harm from Wilson's posts, affirming that the publications did not meet the legal threshold for defamation. MacInnes had alleged Wilson implied she was a liar and a sellout who walked back a harassment complaint to further her career. The decision concludes a two-month court battle.

Brittany Higgins Condemns Pauline Hanson’s DV Comments
Former Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins decried remarks by One Nation leader Pauline Hanson, who said domestic violence is “wrong, but it’s also a two-way street.” Higgins called this victim-blaming rhetoric “atrocious,” noting that 38 Australian women have already died from femicide this year. The exchange has reignited debate on domestic violence accountability.
