In a significant rebuke to a key US ally, over 100 House Democrats voted to cut military aid to Israel, as accusations of genocide in Gaza gain traction within the party. This historic vote marks a sharp divide in Washington over support for Israel's military operations, with 103 Democrats breaking ranks to support the measure.
Why House Democrats Voted to End Military Aid to Israel
The vote reflects growing unease among Democrats about Israel's conduct in Gaza, where civilian casualties have mounted. Military aid to Israel has long been a cornerstone of US foreign policy, but this rebellion signals a potential shift. Representative Ro Khanna, a co-sponsor of the Epstein Files Transparency Act, also pushed for greater accountability in foreign aid.
