The Ukraine war briefing reveals that Ukrainian and US officials have discussed a proposal to offer Russia an air ceasefire, according to Reuters. This comes ahead of Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington on Tuesday. The Kremlin has called such reports premature, stating they need more details before commenting.
Air Ceasefire Proposal and International Reactions
The proposed air ceasefire aims to halt aerial attacks between Russia and Ukraine, potentially de-escalating the ongoing conflict. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov emphasized that Russia will only consider the proposal if it aligns with its interests. Meanwhile, NATO member Romania has escalated its response, shooting down a third drone over the Black Sea in as many days.
