Wigan's dominant derby win over St Helens underscores the widening gap between the two rugby league giants. The match, played just eight miles apart, highlighted how far Saints have fallen after Paul Rowley's sacking. Bevan French, returning from injury, scored one try and created four others, cementing his status as Super League's greatest overseas player.
Why Rowley's Sacking Failed to Spark Change
Despite a spirited first half that saw St Helens lead briefly, the Warriors ran riot after the break. Rowley was relieved of his duties on the eve of the game after just nine months—the shortest tenure for a Saints coach in 50 years. His successor faces a massive rebuild, with the team languishing in seventh place.
