Redmi K100 (Poco F9 Pro): Will see a significant price hike 2026

Redmi is reportedly working on the Redmi K100 and Redmi K100 Pro Max smartphones, which are expected to debut in China in October this year. A little later we will also see them in Europe under the names Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra.

In his Weibo post, the leakster gave us a taste of what to expect in terms of price, and the news isn't so good. Of course, responsible for this situation is the lack of memory and storage space, due to the huge demand from data centers for artificial intelligence. With the devices being announced in the fall, the price increase is justified by the predictions that in the second half of the year we will have an even greater shortage of memories and therefore much higher prices.

A few weeks ago, DCS claimed that the 12GB+256GB variants of the Redmi K100 Pro Max, iQOO 16 and OnePlus 16 could see a price increase, bringing the final cost to 5,000 yuan (around €635). All these devices will come with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, Qualcomm's next generation chipset. This means they will have flagship performance.

However, the regular Redmi K100, which will come here as Poco F9 Pro, will come with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, according to Digital Chat Station, which is to be expected, judging from the past. Apparently, the devices in this category, with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, will start in China from 4,000 yuan (€499). This will be the price we will see the Poco F9 Pro in China, for the version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space. Of course, in Europe we will see a much higher price than €500, since taxes and duties will be added, as well as transportation.

To have a measure of comparison, last year the Redmi K90 came to 2,599 yuan (about €325), for the version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space. If the company doesn't manage to find cheaper memory and storage, we will see a price increase of up to 54%, compared to its predecessor. Doing so would push prices to flagship levels and make the devices unaffordable.

The Redmi K100 Pro Max is expected with a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP periscope camera. Of course, it is still early to have anything completely certain, but as we get closer to the announcement and the device takes its final form, we will have more information.
