Samsung Galaxy S25 FE: It's officially announced and we don't know why 2026

A few months ago we informed you through our exclusive article, which today has been thoroughly verified. The problem is what we told you in our exclusive, that the device is almost the same as its predecessor, without any substantial difference.

Apparently it is almost the same as its predecessor, with the only difference being that it became a little thinner, from 8mm to 7.4mm. It comes with IP68 certification and an aluminum frame.

Its screen is exactly the same 8-bit panel we had last year, namely a Dynamic AMOLED 2X, at 6.7 inches, with a 120Hz refresh rate and only FHD+ resolution. We say only in the resolution, as the device is not cheap and now much cheaper devices than it come with 1.5K screens, which are even in 10-bit or 12-bit. The biggest problem, however, is not the above, but the fact that the screen is not compatible with Dolby Vision, for use on Netflix and Disney+.

On the inside we have exactly the same chipset as last year, namely the Exynos 2400. Last year we had the Exynos 2400e, which was practically the same chipset. The device comes with only 8GB of RAM, while the storage space starts at 128GB, a capacity that we now find mainly in the budget category.

Photographically, we have exactly the same cameras here as we had last year, i.e. 50MP for the main camera, 12MP ultra-wide camera and 8MP for the 3x camera. On the front we have 12MP, which is an increase from the 10MP we had last year.

We have changes in the battery, which now reaches 4,900mAh, from 4,700mAh last year, but charging goes up to 45W, from 25W, as well as wireless charging from 15W to 25W. Even so, it remains well behind the competition, both in terms of battery and charging, with the difference now being chaotic.

In terms of price, it starts at €749 for the version with 128GB of storage space and we still don't know what position it can have in the market, when there is the Poco F7, with a 220 euro lower price and a much stronger chip, battery, screen and charging. If we want to give the money that the S25 FE costs, then there is the Poco F7 Ultra, which has both better cameras and IP69K, while it comes with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, a 2K screen and a much better build quality.

This makes us wonder, does Samsung still have R&D for its new smartphones? The Galaxy S25 FE is 99% the exact same device as last year, at a higher price.
