Carrefour Portable Air Conditioner: Beat the Heat for Less 2026

Carrefour has slashed the price of its portable air conditioner, the Carrefour Home HMAC12JTB-25, to just €269—a €40 discount from its regular €309 price tag. If you're sweltering in a large bedroom or a medium-sized living room, this could be the cooling solution you've been waiting for.

With many models sold out at retailers like Amazon, this deal at Carrefour stands out as a practical alternative. Plus, until July 10, you can finance it over 12 months interest-free, making it even more accessible.

Why Choose a Portable Air Conditioner?

Portable air conditioners offer flexibility that fixed units can't match. They're ideal for rental homes where permanent installation isn't an option, and because they come with wheels, you can easily move them from room to room as needed.

This Carrefour model delivers 3,560 frigories (approximately 12,000 BTU), which is enough to cool spaces between 20 and 30 square meters effectively. That makes it a versatile choice for large bedrooms or medium living areas.

Key Features of the Carrefour Home HMAC12JTB-25

The unit comes with a remote control, so you can adjust settings from across the room. You can also program it to turn off at night, saving energy while you sleep.

It boasts an A energy efficiency rating, though it lacks Inverter technology, which means it may be slightly less efficient than some pricier models. Still, for the price, it's a solid performer.

• Cooling capacity: 3,560 frigories—ideal for rooms up to 30 m².
• Remote control: Adjust settings without getting up.
• Programmable timer: Set it to turn off automatically.
• Portability: Wheels make it easy to move between rooms.
• Energy rating: A, though no Inverter technology.
• Price: €269 (down from €309) with financing options.

How It Compares to Other Cooling Options

When deciding on a cooling solution, it's helpful to see how portable air conditioners stack up against fans and fixed units. The table below compares key aspects.

While a fan is cheaper, it doesn't actually cool the air. A fixed AC is more powerful but requires installation and a higher upfront cost. The portable AC strikes a balance, especially for renters or those who want targeted cooling.

Who Is This Portable AC For?

This unit is perfect for anyone who needs to cool a specific room without major installation. It's especially useful for:

• Renters who can't modify their property.
• People with large bedrooms (20–30 m²) that get stuffy at night.
• Those who want a backup cooling source during heatwaves.
• Anyone looking for a budget-friendly cooling solution.

If you have a larger open-plan space or need to cool multiple rooms simultaneously, you might need a more powerful unit or multiple devices. What to Watch Out For

Portable air conditioners have some limitations. They need to be vented out a window, so you'll need to install the included window kit. Also, without Inverter technology, this model may be noisier and less energy-efficient than premium alternatives. However, for the price and convenience, it's a compelling option—especially with the current discount and financing offer.
