Nintendo Switch 2 Price Drop Hits After Zelda Ocarina of Time Date Reveal 2026

The Nintendo Switch 2 price drop has gamers buzzing after the long-awaited announcement of the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake release date. The new version of the console, which features a removable battery to comply with European regulations, is now available at a steep discount.

Since launch, the Switch 2 has seen its price creep up slightly. Currently, the standard model retails for €499.99, and bundles with games like Mario Kart World cost even more. However, aggressive deals are still popping up, and today we spotted the new version on AliExpress for just €375.53 with coupon code 'FSES45'.

Why the Nintendo Switch 2 Price Drop Matters

This deal represents a discount of nearly €125 off the new official price, which is a significant savings for anyone looking to upgrade. The timing is particularly interesting, coming just days after Nintendo finally confirmed the release date for the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake—one of the most anticipated titles for the system.

The price drop makes the Switch 2 more accessible, especially for fans who want to experience the remake on the latest hardware. It also signals that retailers are competing for attention as the holiday season approaches.

What's Different About This New Nintendo Switch 2 Version?

The key difference in this new revision is the removable battery, which aligns with the new European Union regulations requiring portable devices to have user-replaceable batteries. This is a practical improvement that extends the console's lifespan, as you can easily swap out the battery in the future instead of sending the whole unit for repair.

Aside from the battery, the console remains identical to the original Switch 2, offering the same powerful performance, vivid display, and innovative features that have made it a hit since its launch over a year ago.

Exclusive Games Lineup Continues to Grow

The Nintendo Switch 2 has been on the market for more than a year and is building a strong catalog of exclusive games. Titles like Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokémon Pokopia are already available, and more are on the horizon.

With the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake on the way, the appeal of the Switch 2 is stronger than ever. This deal is a perfect opportunity for newcomers to jump in before the big releases.
