Arrests and Charges
Isobella Perrie Sullivan, from Clane, County Kildare, was charged at a special sitting of Trim district court on Friday evening. A second person, a man in his 40s arrested in connection with the investigation, remains detained in relation to offences against the state. Gardaí requested assistance from the Irish Defence Forces explosive ordnance disposal team, which completed an examination of the vehicle.
Official Statements
Garda Commissioner Justin Kelly confirmed details of the operation at a graduation event in County Tipperary. “To be clear, what we found was an extremely significant seizure,” he said. “Any seizure of this nature is really concerning. However, we certainly know that there are a small minority of dissident republicans who did not agree with the Good Friday agreement… So that is something that we continue to deal with.”
