Ali G is back in a new film titled Ali G: Who Iz I? set for a worldwide release on October 23. The iconic character, played by Sacha Baron Cohen, recently caused chaos at the Wimbledon men's singles final, and the footage is expected to appear in the upcoming movie.
The Wimbledon Stunt That Shocked the Crowd
During the Wimbledon finals, a spectator dressed as Ali G—complete with skullcap, gold chain, and a custom jacket featuring cannabis leaves instead of crossed rackets—heckled attendees and even called out Prince William over an alleged drug debt. The stunt involved posting Instagram offers to sell illegal substances and ended with security releasing him without penalty. Smartphones captured everything, including one held by Cohen himself.

What to Expect from Ali G: Who Iz I?
The film marks the directorial debut of Sacha Baron Cohen, who also stars as Ali G. This move gives him greater agency over his projects following the mixed reception of his recent Netflix comedy Ladies First. The movie is shot in a selfie-style format, which streamlines production and fits the character's energetic persona.
The film's existence was revealed only four days before the Wimbledon incident, and the title was announced this week. It will be the first Ali G feature since 2002's Indahouse, which notably had no US theatrical release.
