Ms Rachel Matches Macklemore's $1M Palestine Aid Donation 2026

YouTube star Ms Rachel has matched Macklemore's $1 million donation to organizations supporting Palestinians, calling on other public figures to follow suit. The children's entertainer, whose full name is Rachel Accurso, announced on Instagram that she would donate to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund, matching the rapper's pledge. This act of solidarity has sparked a broader conversation about celebrity activism and the power of using one's platform for social good.

Ms Rachel's $1M Donation to Palestine

Accurso, who has over 21 million YouTube subscribers, wrote: "Over 20,000 precious Palestinian children have been killed, and children continue to be killed every day." She emphasized that her donation would go directly to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund, an organization providing medical and humanitarian aid to children in Gaza and the West Bank. "We have a moral obligation to use our privilege and platforms to protect children and human rights," she added.

Her decision to match Macklemore's donation comes after the rapper was dropped as the opening act on Ed Sheeran's tour. Macklemore had said "Free Palestine" on stage at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium, leading to his removal from the Loop tour. He pledged the entirety of his earnings from the tour to organizations focused on the Palestinian people.

Macklemore's Controversial Donation Pledge

Macklemore's pledge and subsequent firing have ignited debates about free speech and celebrity activism. During a 4 September concert, he said: "Free Palestine! I want those words to be loud and clear, so that people all the way in Gaza to the occupied West Bank know that we have not forgotten about them." His stance cost him a lucrative tour spot but earned him praise from activists and now a matching donation from Ms Rachel.

The rapper's donation, estimated at $1 million, will be distributed among several organizations, including the Palestine Children's Relief Fund. His actions have prompted other celebrities to consider their own contributions, with Ms Rachel leading the charge.

Impact on Celebrity Activism

Ms Rachel's matching donation highlights a growing trend of celebrities using their wealth and influence to address global crises. Unlike traditional philanthropy, which often occurs behind closed doors, this public display of support aims to inspire others to act. Accurso explicitly encouraged "every wealthy white celebrity" to match her donation, challenging her peers to step up.

This move could pressure other high-profile figures to donate, creating a ripple effect. The Palestine Children's Relief Fund has already reported an increase in donations following the announcements. Celebrity activism, when done transparently, can amplify awareness and drive substantial funding for humanitarian causes.
