Tom Cruise undergoes a remarkable transformation in the first full-length trailer for Digger, the upcoming comedy-drama from director Alejandro González Iñárritu. The film, set for an early October worldwide release, sees Cruise playing Digger Rockwell, an oil baron with a grey combover, pot belly, and southern accent, on a mission to save the world from an ecological disaster he may have triggered.
Tom Cruise's Unrecognizable Role in Digger
Cruise's physical transformation in Digger is his most dramatic since his fatsuit and prosthetics role in 2008's Tropic Thunder. The actor recently spoke at a Warner Bros event in Los Angeles, stating, "I have never had something that could challenge me in this way." The Digger trailer showcases a completely different side of the star, blending humor with high-stakes drama.
