Thousands of homes and businesses in Kent are facing a South East Water supply disruption for a second day, with some reporting a complete lack of water. The utility company confirmed that about 7,000 properties in the Tunbridge Wells area could experience low pressure, intermittent supply, or no water at all due to an instrument failure at a nearby water treatment works.
What Caused the Kent Water Supply Disruption?
The root cause of the outage is an instrument failure at a South East Water treatment facility. The company has deployed tankers to boost drinking water storage levels and set up bottled water stations for affected residents. Steve Benton, the incident manager, apologized to customers, stating: “This is not the service we aim to provide.”
