The New York Knicks have issued a major security alert for fans attending Monday night's Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. With former President Donald Trump confirmed to attend the game at Madison Square Garden, the team is urging fans to arrive at least two hours before tipoff at 8:40 PM local time.
The Knicks announced on Saturday that a strict no-bag policy will be in effect, and all attendees will go through airport-style screening procedures. This marks the first NBA Finals game in New York City since 1999, and the heightened security measures aim to ensure a safe environment for everyone in the arena.

Why Are Security Measures So Strict?
Trump's attendance at major sporting events has become a hallmark of his second term. He has already appeared at the 2025 Super Bowl, the Daytona 500, and the Ryder Cup. Each event required enhanced security protocols coordinated with the Secret Service and local law enforcement.
For Game 3, the Knicks are taking no chances. Fans are advised to bring only essential items and to plan for longer wait times at entry points. The team expects a packed house as the Knicks lead the series 2-0 and ride a 13-game winning streak.
Political Figures Under One Roof
Trump is not the only high-profile political figure expected at the Garden. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has also confirmed he will attend the game, though he stated he will be seated in a very different section from the former president. Mamdani is paying for his own ticket, while Trump is attending as a guest of Knicks owner Jim Dolan.
This rare convergence of political rivals adds an extra layer of intrigue to an already electric atmosphere. The Knicks are chasing their first NBA title since 1973, and the city is buzzing with anticipation.
