Andy Burnham has vowed to bring back hope to Britain as he unveiled his cabinet in a dramatic shift in UK politics. The new prime minister promised to repair long-term damage caused during the Thatcher era, acknowledging that people are fed up with politics and demanding real change.
Burnham’s Cabinet Surprises and Key Appointments
In a surprise move, Burnham appointed John Healey as chancellor, a 66-year-old former defence secretary regarded as a safe pair of hands. Healey emerged as the compromise candidate after Ed Miliband and Shabana Mahmood were tipped for the role. Miliband now takes over as foreign secretary, while Mahmood remains at the Home Office.
