Chelsea Transfer News: Chalobah Exit, Henderson Signing 2026

Chelsea transfer news reveals a busy day at Stamford Bridge as the club sold Trevoh Chalobah to Como and signed Jordan Henderson on a free transfer. These moves highlight the club's strategy of generating pure profit from academy products while adding experienced depth to the squad.

Chelsea Sell Trevoh Chalobah to Como

Trevoh Chalobah's long association with Chelsea is ending after Como agreed a deal worth an initial £25.7m. The England defender, who has been at the club since age eight, made 105 Premier League appearances and became a reliable first-team option during turbulent periods. The package includes £5.1m in performance-related add-ons and a sell-on clause, making it a lucrative deal for the Blues.

Cesc Fàbregas, Como's head coach and former Chelsea midfielder, pushed hard to bring the centre-back to Italy. For Chelsea, the departure of another homegrown product generates pure profit, a key factor as they continue to balance the books under financial fair play regulations.

Jordan Henderson Joins Chelsea

On the same day, new manager Xabi Alonso welcomed Jordan Henderson to Chelsea after his departure from Brentford. The 36-year-old midfielder joined on a free transfer after playing 34 times for the Bees last season, earning a place in England's World Cup squad. Henderson expressed his excitement, saying, "Given the size of the club, the manager, who I have great admiration for, and the quality of the players, this was a huge opportunity I couldn't turn down."

Henderson's career includes 12 seasons at Liverpool, where he captained the team to Champions League victory in 2019 and the Premier League title in 2020. After stints at Al-Ettifaq and Ajax, he now brings leadership and experience to Chelsea's midfield.
