General Mills is recalling nearly 736,000 Pillsbury bread rolls over concerns they could contain glass, according to a notice issued by the US Food and Drug Administration earlier this week. The recall covers two frozen bread roll products: 3,080 cases of Hard Roll Dough, with 180 rolls in each case, totaling 554,400 rolls, and 1,260 cases of Kaiser Roll Dough, with 144 rolls per case, totaling 181,440 rolls.
Why Are These Pillsbury Rolls Being Recalled?
The FDA notice states the products may contain “potential foreign material (glass)”. This glass contamination risk prompted General Mills to initiate the recall on 19 June. The recalled rolls were distributed to 19 states: Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming.

Which Products Are Affected?
The recall involves two specific frozen dough products intended primarily for commercial food service customers. Below is a detailed comparison table of the affected items:
| Product Name | Recall Number | Case Size | Roll Weight | Use-By Date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hard Roll Dough | H-1154-2026 | 180 rolls per case | 2.25 oz each | 12 October 2026 |
| Kaiser Roll Dough | H-1155-2026 | 144 rolls per case | 2.5 oz each | 13 October 2026 |
What Should Food Service Operators Do?
According to information on the company’s website, the frozen dough products are intended primarily for commercial food service customers rather than individual consumers. “Freshly baked, scratch-like bread is possible without increasing labor costs. Simply thaw, proof, and bake pre-portioned dough to make your desired quantity of rolls,” the description for the Pillsbury Kaiser roll product reads. Food service operators should check their inventory for cases marked with the specified “better if used by” dates and immediately stop using any affected products.
