The Buried Dead Rabbit podcast dives deep into the dark world of illegal bloodsports, uncovering shocking intimidation tactics and organized crime. In 2024, a Hampshire village discovered a mound of dead animals outside a school, including rabbits, hares, a fox, and a muntjac deer. Investigative journalists Dan Ashby and Lucy Taylor, known for their award-winning BBC series Buried, launched this 10-part podcast to explore the sinister reality behind hare coursing.

Hare coursing involves dogs chasing and killing hares for sport. Banned in the UK since 2005, it remains a hidden but violent practice. The Buried Dead Rabbit podcast reveals how perpetrators use dead animals as threats, targeting communities with mutilated carcasses to instill fear.
