Victoria Police have issued a stern warning to media outlets regarding the alleged sexual assault at the Sydney Swans team hotel, emphasizing the need to respect the privacy of complainants. The investigation remains ongoing, and police are concerned about the impact of media harassment on the case.
Police Statement and Media Conduct
In a release to journalists on Thursday, a manager in the police media unit admonished the media for repeatedly contacting the parties involved. The statement highlighted that this behavior is having a significant impact, particularly on the complainants, and could prejudice the criminal investigation.

Police emphasized that repeated harassment may affect both the investigation and the welfare of the complainants, urging media to adhere to their responsibilities and avoid publishing identifying details.
