Nigel Farage Finances Under Fire in Coordinated Pile-On 2026

Nigel Farage has accused critics of his financial backing of orchestrating a "coordinated pile-on" to undermine Reform UK, as questions mount over a £5m gift from crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne. The Reform leader addressed the Conservative Political Action Conference GB (CPAC GB) in Docklands, east London, defending his party's fundraising and attacking political rivals.

What Sparked the Controversy Over Farage's Finances?

The Guardian revealed in April that Farage received a £5m donation from Harborne, a crypto entrepreneur, before the last election. This has triggered two parliamentary standards inquiries into Farage's financial disclosures, which he claims are part of a smear campaign. "I found myself and my colleagues being judged to be guilty, guilty every single day," Farage told the CPAC GB audience, drawing parallels to U.S. political attacks.

Key Figures in the Debate

Farage singled out Labour leader Andy Burnham and Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch, labeling them the "uniparty." He also highlighted the election of Colin Sutton as Norfolk's police and crime commissioner, calling it evidence of Reform's rise. Sutton won with a majority of 14,299 on a 17% turnout. Meanwhile, the CPAC GB event featured hard-right figures like Jack Posobiec, who promoted the Pizzagate conspiracy theory.

Farage boasted that Reform UK raised more money last year than any other political party, but critics question the transparency of these funds. The crypto connection has intensified scrutiny, as Harborne's wealth stems from volatile digital assets.
