Top Food Festivals in Europe for Zesty Lemons and Tiramisu 2026

If you love food festivals in Europe, you’re in for a treat. From the sun-drenched lemon groves of the French Riviera to the creamy tiramisu of Veneto, these events celebrate local flavours and traditions. This guide highlights three standout festivals that promise zesty colour, rich taste, and unforgettable experiences.

Menton Lemon Festival: A Citrus Spectacle in the South of France

The town of Menton on the French Riviera hosts the annual Lemon Festival (Fête du Citron) from 10 to 28 February 2027. Its microclimate, shielded by the Alps, gives Menton lemons a distinct fragrance and quality. Visitors can explore food tastings, lemon salads, tarts, and citrus-infused cakes at market stalls. The highlight is the Golden Garden of Light (Jardins Biovès) featuring giant sculptures made entirely of citrus fruit, accompanied by parades and exhibitions.

What Makes It Special?

More than a food festival, it’s a celebration of nature. The vibrant colours and flavours transform a damp winter into a fortnight of light and taste. Don’t miss the chance to sample Menton lemons—they are unlike any other.

Tiramisù World Cup: Italy’s Dessert Competition in Treviso

Last autumn, the Tiramisù World Cup took over Treviso, the town near Venice where the dessert originated. This three-day event features tastings, chef demonstrations, and a public judging contest. Folk music fills the streets, and restaurants offer promotional set meals from around €20 for two courses. For a truly memorable experience, enjoy a mini gondola ride with prosecco and a bowl of tiramisu while gazing at the snow-capped Dolomites.

Gota Cotta Festival: Tuscany’s Pork Cheek Celebration

Held on 4 October in the medieval hilltop town of Colle di Val d’Elsa (Siena), the Gota Cotta festival celebrates pork cheeks—a niche local delicacy. A group of butchers revived this tradition, offering everything from pasta to gelato made with pork cheek, plus excellent wine and craft beers. It’s a true taste of Tuscany’s culinary heritage.
