If you cook for a family or love hosting dinners, you’ve probably discovered the limits of small basket-style air fryers. That’s exactly why I decided to test the Emeril Lagasse Air Fryer. Unlike compact air fryers designed for one or two people, this appliance works more like a full countertop convection oven with air frying capabilities.

After using it for weeks—cooking everything from chicken wings and roasted vegetables to pizza and rotisserie chicken—I quickly realized why this model has become one of the most talked-about large air fryer ovens on the market.

The combination of 26-quart capacity, French doors, and multi-function cooking modes makes it far more versatile than traditional air fryers. Instead of cooking in batches, I can prepare a full meal in one go, which is a major advantage for busy households. Quick Verdict: Is the Emeril Lagasse 26QT Air Fryer Worth It?

After extensive testing, I’d describe this appliance as a hybrid between an air fryer and a countertop convection oven. It excels at cooking large meals, offers impressive versatility, and looks sleek on the counter thanks to its stainless-steel French-door design.

However, its size means it requires significant counter space. If you have a small kitchen, you may want to consider compact models like the Cosori 9-in-1 TurboBlaze 6 QT or the Ninja 4-in-1 Pro 5 QT.

But if capacity and versatility matter most, this appliance stands out. You can also check the latest reviews and pricing on Amazon here.

Design and Build Quality

Premium Stainless Steel Construction

The first thing I noticed when unboxing this appliance was the premium build quality. The stainless steel exterior gives it a professional kitchen look and feels far sturdier than most plastic air fryers. The appliance measures roughly 17 x 15 x 14.5 inches and weighs significantly more than typical models, which reflects its oven-style design and larger heating system.

French Door Convenience

The French doors are more than just a design feature—they’re incredibly practical. Instead of pulling out a basket, I simply open the two doors and slide trays in or out like a traditional oven. The doors open with one hand, which makes it easier to manage hot food and cookware.

An interior light automatically turns on during cooking so I can monitor food without opening the doors and losing heat. It’s a small detail, but it makes everyday cooking much easier.

Large Interior Capacity

The standout feature here is the 26-quart cooking chamber. That’s large enough to cook:

  • A whole chicken on the rotisserie
  • A 12-inch pizza
  • Multiple trays of fries or vegetables
  • Meals for 4–6 people

This capacity is why many users choose it over compact models like the Bella 4QT Slim Fits Anywhere or the Chefman 6 QT Compact

Cooking Performance

Powerful Air Frying Technology

The Emeril Lagasse 26QT uses superheated air circulation with a dual-speed convection fan. This technology distributes heat evenly around food, producing crispy results with minimal oil. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}

During my testing, chicken wings turned out golden and crispy, and French fries cooked evenly without constant shaking. Vegetables like Brussels sprouts caramelized beautifully while staying tender inside.

Excellent Rotisserie Cooking

The included rotisserie spit is one of my favorite features. Rotisserie chicken cooks evenly while self-basting as it rotates, resulting in juicy meat and crispy skin.

This is something most basket air fryers simply can’t replicate. It transforms the appliance into a mini countertop rotisserie oven.

Baking and Roasting

I was pleasantly surprised by how well this appliance handles baking. Cookies, pastries, and small cakes cook evenly thanks to the convection airflow.

In most cases, I found reducing the oven temperature by about 20–25°F compared to traditional recipes produced the best results.

Cooking Functions and Presets

This appliance includes multiple cooking modes, making it far more versatile than a standard air fryer.

  • Air Fry
  • Bake
  • Roast
  • Toast
  • Broil
  • Rotisserie
  • Dehydrate
  • Reheat

The digital touchscreen allows you to adjust temperature between roughly 150°F and 500°F, giving it flexibility similar to a convection oven.

If you prefer high-end countertop ovens with similar versatility, the Breville Smart Oven Pro and the Cuisinart 1800W 8-in-1 Toaster Oven are also worth comparing.

So far, I love it! (Its definitely love)

Ease of Use

Simple Digital Controls

The digital interface is straightforward. Presets automatically adjust time and temperature for common foods like fries, chicken, pizza, and toast.

I mostly use manual mode, but beginners will appreciate the preset options.

Quick Preheating

Compared with a conventional oven, preheating is much faster—often under three minutes. That means faster meals and less energy usage overall. :contentReference[oaicite:5]{index=5}

Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning is easier than expected for such a large appliance.

  • Removable trays and racks
  • Non-stick interior
  • Dishwasher-safe accessories

I recommend lining the drip tray with foil when cooking greasy foods like wings or bacon. It saves a lot of cleanup time.

Final Verdict

This is one of the best purchases we've ever made. This air fryer is not only stylish, but it works like a dream!
Everything we cook in it comes out perfect and has much better flavor, and just the right outer crisp on steaks, chicken, baked potatoes & more.
The only thing that needs work is the shelves pull out easily and you can drop hot items . You almost need two hands. One to pull out your cooked food and one to hold the shelf in place. Easy to burn your hand if you are not careful.
Otherwise, when we have guests, they rave about the flavor thats locked in. We had cheap air fryers before & they didnt last long at all. This one is still cooking like it did the first day! Easy to clean, high quality, racks are very sturdy. I could add more but I'm sure I've made my point!
Looks great. Cord too Short.

Wrapping up

After extensive testing, I can confidently say the Emeril Lagasse Extra Large French Door Air Fryer 26QT is one of the best large air fryer ovens available today. It combines the functionality of several appliances—air fryer, toaster oven, rotisserie, dehydrator, and convection oven—into one powerful unit.

The generous capacity makes it ideal for families, meal prep, and entertaining guests. While it does require more counter space than smaller air fryers, the versatility and performance easily justify the footprint.
