Football transfer rumours are swirling as Arsenal consider a blockbuster swap for Victor Osimhen, while Newcastle set their sights on Carlos Baleba. The January window promises drama, and we break down the latest whispers.
Arsenal's Osimhen Swap Proposal
According to reports, Arsenal have been offered the chance to include Victor Osimhen in an exchange deal involving Gabriel Martinelli. The Nigerian striker would solve Arsenal's long-standing need for a clinical No. 9, but the price is steep. To sweeten the pot, young Ethan Nwaneri could also be included, creating a mega swap that would reshape both squads.

Why Osimhen Fits Arsenal
Osimhen's pace, power, and aerial ability make him a perfect fit for Mikel Arteta's system. With 15 goals in 20 league appearances this season, he offers immediate firepower. However, his injury history and wage demands remain concerns. Arsenal's hierarchy is weighing the long-term value against the immediate impact.
Newcastle's Midfield Hunt
After selling Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimarães to Spurs and Arsenal for a combined £175m, Newcastle are desperate for midfield reinforcements. Their top target is Brighton's Carlos Baleba, a dynamic box-to-box player who has impressed with his energy and tackling. The Magpies are prepared to bid big, but Brighton are reluctant to sell mid-season.
Other Targets on the Radar
Newcastle are also monitoring Rafik Belghali from Hellas Verona as a right-back option, while Leeds are closing in on Nico Elvedi from Borussia Mönchengladbach. Nottingham Forest are set to sign goalkeeper Steven Benda on a free transfer, and Crystal Palace are eyeing Anan Khalaili for defensive depth.
