Jermain Defoe exit from Woking has been confirmed after the National League club cited growing concerns over his conduct. The former Tottenham striker mutually terminated his contract on Thursday, ending his first managerial stint after just four months. Jody Brown, Woking's director of football, revealed that Defoe failed to attend training sessions and did not submit requested reports, leading to an inevitable split.
Defoe's Woking Tenure: A Rocky Start
Defoe, 43, took charge of the National League side with high hopes, but his record of two wins, three draws, and one defeat in six matches showed mixed results. Despite calling his time at the club an "eye-opening" experience, the club's statement painted a different picture. Brown said, "After meeting with him on several occasions, I believed he was the right person to lead the club into an exciting new era." However, feedback from players and staff pointed to "growing concerns" that were never communicated directly to management.

What This Means for Defoe's Future
