Seth Meyers delivered a scathing takedown of Donald Trump's second term, calling it a constant stream of humiliation for Americans struggling with rising costs. On Late Night, the host highlighted how the president remains laser-focused on bizarre topics like magnetic catapults and sperm counts instead of fixing the economy.
Trump's Broken Promises on Inflation and Groceries
During his 2024 campaign, Trump promised to end inflation and lower the cost of gas and groceries. Yet, as Meyers pointed out, he has failed on all fronts. Instead, the administration has been preoccupied with an outbreak of explosive diarrhea virus, which Meyers joked Trump brought back very strongly.

Meyers mocked Trump's understanding of groceries, suggesting he just found out about them. The host noted that once in office, Trump's collection of internet-poisoned weirdos became obsessed with weird shit rather than addressing the real issues affecting Americans.
RFK Jr. and the Sperm Count Obsession
Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been lecturing everyone about low sperm counts in teenagers. Meyers quipped, Is there an erotic fiction section in AARP magazine? and asked if RFK Jr. was a gym teacher subbing in for health class. A recent study revealed the panic was nonsense.
| Issue | Trump's Focus | Public Concern |
|---|---|---|
| Inflation | Magnetic catapults | Rising costs |
| Groceries | Sperm counts | Food prices |
| War in Iran | Testosterone levels | Endless conflict |
Pete Hegseth's Testosterone Obsession
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who doesn't have much else going on, is now pushing for annual testosterone checks in the military. Meyers asked sarcastically, What about the war in Iran? Is testosterone gonna fix the war in Iran? He called it all insane as the conflict has no end in sight.
Trump's Wet Magnet Rant
Meyers also highlighted Trump's very sane, very normal obsession with aircraft carriers. At a press conference, the president raged about wet magnets and electric catapults versus steam ones. I've never seen someone get this worked up about a fucking magnet, Meyers said, doubting whether getting magnets wet would cause any problems.
