Christopher Nolan fans are traveling thousands of miles to see The Odyssey at the BFI Imax in London, proving their devotion to the director's epic vision. Christian Campbell, a 22-year-old film graduate from Atlanta, flew over 4,000 miles to catch the midnight premiere of Nolan's adaptation of Homer's epic poem. He bought his ticket a year in advance after failing to secure one in New York or Georgia.
Why London Is the Ultimate Destination for Nolan Fans
The BFI Imax, near Waterloo Bridge, is one of the few cinemas globally equipped to show The Odyssey in Imax 1570, the highest-resolution film format. This film is the first feature shot entirely on 1570 cameras, each weighing 180kg. Nolan worked with Imax to develop a soundproofing blimp for dialogue recording.
