6 Before and After that Will Surprise You! 2026

6 Before and After that Will Surprise You, sometimes a space that looks outdated, worn out or even not very functional can awaken the desire to start a renovation to give the environment a new face.

Adapt the rooms of the house according to our needs and preferences is essential not only to make its use more practical, but also to make its appearance pleasant to the eyes.

A change process can start from several principles through a complete work or simpler adjustments.

Check before and after 6 renovations that had the same purpose: to reform and change the environment.

A modern kitchen

This apartment from the 80s had an old kitchen without many resources in which the electrical and hydraulic installations were already old and outdated. With the renovation, the space was completely reformulated through new structures, coverings and furniture.

Instead of ceramic tiles, now visible bricks stand out that harmonize with the cabinets made of natural wood.

The furniture was custom made, filling all the free walls and opening the appliances.

A part of the wall that separated the kitchen from the dining room was removed and replaced with sliding doors. guaranteeing more spaciousness and use of natural lighting when the doors are open.

A glass shade was placed on the wall of the room, which also helps spread the ambient lighting.

New bathroom coverings

The bathroom, with a typical decoration of old houses and apartments from the 80s, needed a renovation to become a more beautiful space appropriate to the taste of the new house.

The renovation was based on the replacement of the coverings, which had outdated colors and prints, and the tableware, with a dark, tired caramel tone.

With the renovation, the bathroom has become a lighter and more illuminated environment with modern coverings that beautify the environment.

The walls were covered with white subway style tiles up to a height of 1.80 m while the rest of the space was painted with acrylic paint. The application of the tiles was done with gray grout to further highlight the settlement on the wall.

The choice for the floor was a porcelain tile that simulates hydraulic brick with various prints and the tableware was replaced by white pieces with a more modern design.

The environment was composed without closets, since the resident does not feel the need to store many items in the bathroom, and without a box, since the space is reserved to house a bathtub in the future.

Personality for the living room

The furniture brought from the old house was already old and worn and did not fit well with the large, integrated space that the living room and dining room contemplated. The old composition was impersonal, aroused a feeling of emptiness and was unwelcoming.

The environment went through a transformation process using simple resources and decorative elements.

To take advantage of the spaciousness of the space, the walls received a new paint with white ink and the old light fixtures were replaced with more modern and more efficient models.

The dining table received new chairs and the dining space was demarcated through pendant light fixtures. The antique sofa was restored and other furniture was added to the room with the intention of creating a visual separation between the two spaces.

One of the walls of the room was occupied by a modular shelf that extends throughout the room and that, like the natural fiber rug, serves both the living room and the dining room. To guarantee an even more welcoming comfortable space, the space has been decorated with paintings, cushions, lamps and tiles that give personality to the integrated environment.

Retro style adorns the kitchen

The old kitchen, although large, was not very functional and lacked a defined decorative style. The coverings no longer please the inhabitants who wanted a beautiful and practical space to receive friends.

The renovation was inspired by the retro style, with a great presence of colors and elements that refer to the 50s. With a new granite bench under yellow lacquer cabinets and the walls were covered with tiles with a geometric print and painted with gray acrylic paint.

A shelf with LED strip lighting was installed on the bench to house the most frequently used tableware.

The old floor was replaced with a checkerboard vinyl covering, with the aim of facilitating cleaning, and the blue dining table along with the orange chairs complement the new colorful look of the kitchen.

Bedroom for a teenager

The room remains the same but the child who slept there is now a teenager.

With antique furniture, inherited from the mother's childhood room, with paint and coverings already deteriorated by the action of time, the bedroom underwent a general renovation adapting to the new phase of the teenager's life.

The new bedroom gained a jovial and relaxed decoration. The wall at the head of the bed received a patterned wallpaper while the rest of the walls and the ceiling were painted white and yellow respectively.

The old floor was replaced with a light wood laminate, highlighting the color of the environment. The composition of the bed was made in an original way, through a platform made of pine wood painted white and colorful futons that can be separated and spread out on the floor to receive visitors.

The bedside tables were added with different models and colors and together with the hanging light they bring charm to the environment.

Elegant gourmet space

The gourmet area of this apartment had not been renovated with the rest of the rooms and needed to be decorated and equipped to become a functional and welcoming space.

The renovation was carried out in such a way that the new elements and coverings harmonized with the colors already present in the environment, which guided the choice of the color palette. The space received a hydraulic tile floor, in shades of black and beige, and a granite bench, accompanied by stools, which serves as support for preparing and serving food.

The barbecue area was equipped with cabinets and the pediment received a black tablet coating that highlights the tones of the bricks, providing an elegant and sophisticated touch to the gourmet space.
