Today we will teach you how to make a pallet stage, which you can do easily and quickly in the comfort of your home.
Most musicians will have 1 or 2 people playing at a time, but I left it big enough to fit 3 people.
With enough pallets, you could make a small stage of any size.
Steps to create a pallet scenario:
Step 1: Gather Your Materials

After gathering so many different pallets, I took an inventory of what I needed to work with. The key here is to use pallets of the same height or "thickness."
The only tools I used for construction were:
- 1 Hand Drill
- 1 Hammer
Step 2: Framing

The first step in the process was to frame the scene.
For this I used 2 layers of pallets to make the stage almost a foot high.
The first layer consisted of 2 pallets of the same height. These support the second layer.
The second layer should be extended to be the external dimensions you want the stage to have. For me, that's 4'x8'.
It is important now to join your layers.
This prevents unwanted changes, which would be bad for anyone on top.
It is preferable to attach frame to frame, but you can really attach it to any piece that won't fall off the platform.
Step 3: Cover

The framing leaves a lot of holes in the upper part of the stage, so this leaves you with a few options.
My route was to fill as many gaps as I could with the extra palles slats, which gave me the luxury of using a super thin piece of plywood to provide a flat, hole-free surface that no feet/chair legs/microphone or guitar stands will fall off.
The plywood will also need to be secured.
Alternatively, you could use 2 or 3 layers of plywood for less time and work, or you could cover the entire material properly with wooden pallets at a lower cost.
Step 4: Beautification

Nothing against plywood, but I have some things against plywood.
The last step was to take a 5'x8' rug that normally sits there, and place it on the stage.
I didn't like this rug beforehand, but I have to say that adding some shape to it has really made it pop and I can't imagine a more perfect rug.
Step 5: More things

It was a very simple morning project that most people could do in an afternoon.
The concept can be applied to other stages of different shapes and sizes.
If I had extra time/Pallets, I would have put a pallet wall mount on the stage, which I think would have really taken it to the next level, but I settled for a simple crowd barrier, which came in handy. P
Adding some simple lighting will really get it going too.
