With the help of her husband, our friend has transformed a coil into a bar table, perfect for any outdoor corner. The example will encourage you to go out in search of the long-awaited reel! Although there are not them everywhere like pallets, you are sure to find one abandoned, sooner or later.

Our friends get to work. "We sealed the screw joints with paste and smoothed the surfaces, including the bottom parts, and installed four wheels to handle it better."

"Thinking that the interior space of the reel was wasted, we disassembled the spool (mistake, I advise against it!) and made a hole as wide as the fixing screws would allow us." The couple's plan is to camouflage the ice bucket, "so that the table fulfills its purpose perfectly," explains Noeda44.

Noeda44and her husband made the lid with a simple trick: «The leftover wood was bad, but we found the solution: two wooden plates to serve octopus, counterbalanced one against the other so that the lower one had less circumference than the upper one and they fit between the two.

A very successful idea that we can apply to various jobs, such as kitchen cans.

As the ice bucket was lower than the hole, they placed it on a wooden block. The hole was also wider, so they applied a layer of construction-grade insulating foam inside, "and it was perfectly fixed."

"So that the ice bucket does not stick to the foam, it has a plastic around it that allows it to be removed when necessary," details our friend. «Inside that ice cube tray fits the plastic cup with a handle for the ice cubes.

"Once the coil was assembled, we cut and glued the tiles that we already had on both bases to form a kind of compass rose or something similar."

«As a background for the gaps between the tiles we put some white tiles of different sizes, and a chocolate-colored base mortar to which we added brown dye to darken it and more resemble the color of the rings of the two bases and the lid.  The outer rings are DM slats nailed and glued.

Seeking to maximize the usefulness of the table, our friends drilled holes in the lower round and fitted some round slats. What will those slats be used for? Noeda44gives us a clue: «In the upper part, holes were made to pass the rope«.

«We covered the body of the coil with a sisal cord, nailed at the beginning and glued with glue. The 25 meters of cord were also just enough for the piece at the top, around the lid to 'make up' all the joints."

Here we see the tapa made with two plates of octopus, perfectly decorated in harmony with the table. After sanding, applying two coats of primer and two coats of paint, "we glued the same white stones making a drawing, and, as a shooter - since we are fans of golf - we thought that a ball, with its corresponding tee, would fulfill the task perfectly," explains the artist.
