Trump threatens to bomb Oman if it gets in the way of ending the Iran war, a move that has stunned allies and escalated Middle East tensions. The latest threat, delivered during a Fox News interview, underscores the unpredictable nature of his diplomacy as peace efforts stall.
Trump's Threat to Oman: A New Low in Diplomacy?
President Donald Trump has again directed a threat at Oman, a longtime US strategic partner, warning that he would "bomb the shit out of them" if they obstruct his efforts to end the US-Israel war on Iran. This marks the second such threat, coming as the two-month window for negotiating peace expired without a breakthrough. Oman has traditionally served as a key backchannel between Washington and Tehran, making Trump's rhetoric particularly alarming to regional observers.

The threat illustrates how Trump's approach to foreign policy has alienated even close allies. While he has positioned himself as the "peacemaker-in-chief," his actions have failed to produce the promised resolution. The ongoing conflicts, including Houthi attacks on Saudi military ships near the Bab-al Mandeb strait, highlight the volatility of the region.
Stalled Peace Efforts and Regional Fallout
In parallel, Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for over four hours, but Netanyahu rejected a US-backed peace plan that required Israeli troop withdrawal from Gaza before Hamas fully disarms. Kushner reportedly urged Netanyahu not to create obstacles, yet the impasse persists. The Houthi strike on Saudi vessels, though unconfirmed by Saudi officials, further complicates the security landscape.
These developments suggest that Trump's promise to end the Iran war remains unfulfilled. His threats against Oman, a neutral party, risk destabilizing a crucial diplomatic channel and could undermine any chance of a negotiated settlement.
Comparison: Traditional Diplomacy vs. Trump's Approach

| Communication | Quiet backchannels and multilateral talks | Public threats and ultimatums |
