Performance and Suction Power
We tested suction by attaching a gauge to the extension hose, recording measurements on minimum and maximum modes. The vacuum excelled in cleaning tests with cat litter, flour, and pet hair on both short-pile carpet and hard floors. Results show it collects nearly 98% of debris, outperforming many cordless rivals.
| Test Material | Carpet Pickup (%) | Hard Floor Pickup (%) |
|---|---|---|
| Cat Litter | 97% | 99% |
| Flour | 95% | 98% |
| Pet Hair | 96% | 100% |
Pros and Cons

- Cons: Cord management required, may need to switch outlets in larger homes.
How It Compares to Cordless Vacuums
Corded vacuums like the Shark Detect Lift-Away XL offer consistent power without battery degradation. While cordless models offer portability, they often lack the sustained suction for deep cleans. This corded upright is ideal for whole-home cleaning, especially for pet owners and allergy sufferers.
