The long-awaited Fury vs Joshua showdown is finally set for November 2025, with both British heavyweights preparing through tune-up bouts this weekend. Despite recent defeats and long inactivity, the $100m fight promises to be one of the biggest in boxing history.
The Road to the Showdown
Tyson Fury has won only one fight in the past two years and nine months, while Anthony Joshua has managed a solitary victory in over two years. Fury outpointed Arslanbek Makhmudov in April, and Joshua broke Jake Paul’s jaw in December. Their recent losses are more memorable: Fury lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024, and Joshua was stopped by Daniel Dubois in September of that year.

Tune-Up Bouts This Weekend
Fury faces Mariusz Wach, a 46‑year‑old Polish journeyman, on Friday in Pattaya, Thailand. The bout will not be live on TV or streaming; instead it will appear on Fury’s Netflix show At Home with the Furys season three. Joshua will also face a carefully selected opponent on Saturday.
Why the Fight Is Still Happening
The massive financial incentive—over $100 million—keeps the matchup alive, even though it would have been most compelling eight years ago. Both fighters need rust‑shaking exercises before they meet in November.
