Xbox 25th Anniversary Controller Sells Out Fast: How to Get One 2026

The new Xbox 25th anniversary controller is selling out fast, and fans are scrambling to get their hands on this limited-edition accessory. Microsoft released the Xbox Series X25 and the X25 Special Edition controller to celebrate 25 years of Xbox, but stock is already dwindling.

The controller features a stunning translucent green design that evokes the golden era of gaming in the 90s and 2000s. Priced at €79.99, it's available through various retailers, but availability is fluctuating rapidly.

What Makes the Xbox 25th Anniversary Controller Special?

The Xbox 25th anniversary controller isn't just another gamepad—it's a collector's item. The translucent green shell is a nostalgic throwback to the clear electronics of the 90s, a design choice that resonates with long-time Xbox fans.

This special edition controller is part of the Xbox Series X25 lineup, which also includes a console with a matching design. The controller is compatible with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows devices, making it versatile for all your gaming needs.

But beyond its looks, the controller boasts all the features of the standard Xbox Wireless Controller: textured grips, a hybrid D-pad, and Bluetooth connectivity. It's a functional piece of gaming history.

Where to Buy the Xbox 25th Anniversary Controller

If you're hoping to snag one, you'll need to act quickly. Microsoft's official store currently shows the controller as out of stock, but the company directs buyers to other retailers like Amazon, MediaMarkt, Game, Fnac, and xtralife.

Amazon briefly had the controller available at its €79.99 retail price, but it's unclear how long that will last. Other retailers may have stock intermittently, so it's worth checking frequently.

Given the limited nature of this release, availability is expected to be sporadic. Set up alerts with your preferred retailers to get notified when it's back in stock.

Why This Controller Matters to Xbox Fans

The 25th anniversary is a significant milestone for Xbox, and this controller is a tangible way for fans to celebrate. The translucent green design pays homage to the original Xbox's debug kit and the clear electronics trend of the early 2000s.

Collectors and enthusiasts are particularly drawn to limited-edition items like this. The controller not only works great but also serves as a display piece for any gaming setup.

Moreover, with the current gaming hardware market experiencing price hikes and stock shortages, this release adds to the frenzy. The Xbox Series X25 console and controller are hot commodities, and demand is high.

How to Increase Your Chances of Getting One

To improve your odds, keep an eye on multiple retailers simultaneously. Use stock tracking websites or browser extensions that alert you when the controller becomes available.

Consider following Xbox's official social media accounts for announcements about restocks. Sometimes, retailers announce limited drops on Twitter or Instagram.

If you miss out initially, don't lose hope—more stock may arrive in the coming weeks. However, given the limited edition nature, it may not be restocked after the initial run sells out.

Alternatives to the 25th Anniversary Controller

If you can't get your hands on the special edition, the standard Xbox Wireless Controller is a solid alternative. It offers the same performance and comfort, minus the nostalgic design.
