Small but mighty, these Wolfcraft 3037000 edge clamps are an ingenious add-on that leverages the bar of standard clamps to apply lateral pressure to the edge of a board. Whether you're a seasoned woodworker or a weekend DIY warrior, this simple tool solves a common problem with elegance and precision.
Small But Effective: How Wolfcraft Edge Clamps Work
As small as they are useful, these additional screw-type edge clamps (model 3037000 by Wolfcraft) let you easily overcome a frequent challenge. The typical scenario shown here is when you don't have clamps long enough to reach across the full width of a panel, but you need to press firmly on the edge to evenly compress a strip of veneer and hold it in place until the adhesive fully dries.

The edge clamp system relies on standard bar clamps—whether the jaws tighten with a screw or a lever doesn't matter. The key requirement is that the bar has standard dimensions so it can fit into the designated slot on the Wolfcraft 3037000 edge clamps.
Simple Yet Effective Operation
For simplicity, you first slide the edge clamps onto the bars of your regular clamps. Then, tighten the main clamps securely onto the thickness of the board. Slide the small clamp along the bar to center it on the point of action, then turn the knurled knob. The clamp's foot extends and pushes, applying strong frontal pressure directly onto the edge.
Beyond rolled veneer edges, this system works beautifully for applying higher-end solid wood trim strips or for repairs involving gluing detached or reconstructed pieces back into place. If you're setting up your workshop for these kinds of projects, having the right home improvement tools on hand makes all the difference.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of clamps are compatible with these edge clamps?
These edge clamps are designed to work with standard bar clamps, regardless of whether the main jaws are screw-type or lever-action. The bar must be of normal dimensions to fit into the housing on the Wolfcraft 3037000.
Can I use these clamps for materials other than veneer?
Absolutely. While they excel at pressing veneer strips, you can also use them to apply solid wood edge banding, trim pieces, or for gluing repairs where you need localized pressure on the edge of a board. For larger workshop projects, consider pairing them with a sturdy work surface.
How much pressure can these edge clamps apply?
The knurled knob allows you to gradually extend the foot, generating significant frontal pressure on the board's edge. The exact force depends on how tightly you turn the knob, but it is more than sufficient for most woodworking and veneering tasks.
Are these clamps suitable for professional use?
Yes, Wolfcraft is a reputable brand known for quality workshop tools. These edge clamps are durable enough for daily professional use while being affordable for hobbyists. For your complete workshop setup, you might also explore shelving units to keep everything organized.
Where can I buy replacement or additional Wolfcraft edge clamps?
These are available at many hardware stores and online retailers. For a full range of workshop accessories and garden supplies, check specialized DIY shops.
