Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola has made it clear he is determined to keep Alexis Mac Allister and Alisson Becker at the club this season, despite mounting interest from Real Madrid and Juventus. Speaking from the team's pre-season tour in Chicago, Iraola emphasized that both players are central to his plans as he prepares for his first campaign in charge.
Iraola's Commitment to Retaining Key Stars
Iraola acknowledged that Mac Allister's standout performances at the World Cup have attracted attention, but he insisted the Argentina international remains under contract until 2028 and will not be sold. "I want to keep my good players," Iraola said. "I'm looking forward more to signing new players rather than losing the ones we have here."

Similarly, Alisson has been linked with a move to Juventus, but the Brazilian goalkeeper's future is secure. Iraola has spoken with both players and confirmed they are part of the squad for the upcoming Premier League season.
Strengthening the Squad Despite Injuries
Injuries to Hugo Ekitiké and Conor Bradley will sideline them for several more months, forcing Iraola to explore transfer options. However, he remains confident in his current roster, especially in goal, where Alisson is joined by Giorgi Mamardashvili and young prospect Armin Pecsi (who will go on loan). Freddie Woodman also provides experienced cover after playing last season.

|---|---|---|
| Alisson Becker | Starter | Staying at Liverpool |
| Giorgi Mamardashvili | Backup | In squad |
