What Is Amazon Luna and How Does It Work?
Amazon Luna is a cloud gaming platform that lets you play games without a console or gaming PC. Games run on Amazon's servers and stream to your device, similar to how Netflix streams movies.
All current-generation Fire TV Sticks are compatible with Luna, including the 4K Plus model. The service requires a compatible controller, and the Luna Controller is designed specifically for this purpose.
How to Access Luna with Amazon Prime
If you're an Amazon Prime member, you already have access to Luna Standard at no extra cost. This tier includes a curated library of games that changes monthly.
For €9.99 per month, you can upgrade to Luna Premium, which offers a larger library and additional features like 4K streaming and priority access.
Luna Controller Deal: Save €20
The Luna Controller is currently on sale for €49.99, down from its regular price of €69.99. This controller connects directly to Luna's servers via Wi-Fi, reducing input lag compared to Bluetooth controllers.
It also features built-in Alexa, allowing you to control your gaming session with voice commands. The controller works with Fire TV, PC, Mac, and mobile devices.
Games Available on Luna
While Luna's library isn't as extensive as Xbox Game Pass, it includes several high-profile titles. Some popular games include:
- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – an action-adventure game
- Hogwarts Legacy – the open-world Harry Potter RPG
- Dispatch – a critically acclaimed indie title
- Franchises like Tomb Raider, Lego, Marvel, Alien, and Fallout
These games are part of the Luna Standard catalog, available with your Prime subscription. The Premium tier adds even more titles.
Device Compatibility
Luna works on a variety of devices, making it a flexible option for gamers. The service is compatible with:
| Device | Compatibility |
|---|---|
| Fire TV Stick (current gen) | Yes, including 4K Plus |
| PC/Mac | Via web browser |
| Mobile (iOS/Android) | Via Luna app |
| Tablet | Via Luna app |
This wide compatibility means you can start a game on your TV and continue on your phone, as long as you have a stable internet connection.
Why This Matters for Gamers
Cloud gaming is becoming more accessible, and Amazon's inclusion of Luna with Prime adds significant value to the subscription. The controller discount further lowers the barrier to entry.
