The Nintendo Switch 2 bundle deal at Fnac is making waves during the retailer's VAT-free promotion, offering the console with a game for €494.99. This comes ahead of a price increase on September 1, when the console will rise from €469 to €499. But is this the best offer available? Let's break down the details.
What Is the Fnac Nintendo Switch 2 Bundle?
Fnac's promotion, part of its Ahórrate el IVA (Save the VAT) event, lets you buy the Nintendo Switch 2 at its standard price of €469.99 and add one of two selected games for just €25 more, bringing the total to €494.99. The games available are not specified in the source, but the bundle is similar to offers from other retailers.

This deal is timely because Nintendo has announced a price hike for the Switch 2 starting September 1, raising the console's price to €499. So, buying now could save you €30 on the console alone, plus you get a game for a fraction of its usual cost.
How Does MediaMarkt's Offer Compare?
MediaMarkt has been running a similar bundle for weeks, and it appears to be more attractive. For €459, you get the console and a choice of four different games, including both titles offered by Fnac. That's €35.99 less than Fnac's bundle and double the game options.
MediaMarkt's lower price and wider selection make it the better deal on paper. However, availability may vary, and Fnac's promotion is part of a limited-time VAT-free event, so it could be worth checking both retailers before making a decision.
Key Takeaways from the Fnac Switch 2 Deal
- Price: €494.99 for console + one game (€25 extra for the game).
- Game options: Two titles to choose from (specific titles not disclosed).
- Upcoming price increase: Switch 2 will cost €499 from September 1.
- Competitor offer: MediaMarkt offers console + one of four games for €459.
- Promotion period: Part of Fnac's VAT-free event, likely limited-time.
Is It Worth Buying the Nintendo Switch 2 Now?
With the price increase looming, buying before September 1 could save you money. The Fnac bundle effectively gives you a game for €25, which is a significant discount compared to typical game prices. However, if you prefer more game choices or a lower price, MediaMarkt's offer might be more appealing. Consider what games you want to play and whether either bundle includes a title you're interested in. If not, you might be better off buying the console alone at the current price and purchasing games separately, especially if you can find them on sale. If you're set on the Switch 2, acting before the price hike is wise. But weigh the bundle's value against your gaming preferences and budget.
