Boris Johnson's documentary 'Into Ukraine’s Kill Zone' is a troubling hour-long film that places the former prime minister at the center of the conflict—but his self-serving narcissism ruins any serious intent. From the awkward disclaimers to his blokey banter with soldiers, the documentary quickly devolves into the Boris Show.
A Documentary Undermined by Its Presenter
The film opens with a caption warning viewers that the views are subjective and reflect Johnson's own interpretations. It's as if the production company sensed the inherent bias. Johnson, a known liar and shapeshifter, turns a serious war documentary into a platform for his ego.

Throughout the hour, he interrupts soldiers to showcase his knowledge of weaponry—"50 cal, right?"—and crows about enemy hits. His attempts at camaraderie feel forced and inappropriate, making the audience question why he was chosen to lead this project.
