Heavens to Betsy, the pioneering feminist punk duo, have reunited for their first tour in 32 years, bringing their raw rage and revenge-seeking anthems to a new generation of fans. The band, consisting of drummer Tracy Sawyer and singer-guitarist Corin Tucker, played a secret DIY show in Portland, Oregon, this summer, selling out instantly based on a photocopied flyer. Now they're set to tour the US and release a new LP, Baby's Gone, collecting their rare 1992 demo and two 7-inch EPs.
The Historic Reunion and Its Impact
Heavens to Betsy emerged from the early-90s Olympia, Washington, punk scene, playing their first show at the International Pop Underground Convention in 1991. Their music tackled body image, sexual abuse, abortion, periods, and worker exploitation with unapologetic fury. The reunion show this summer saw young fans singing along to every word, proving the band's relevance endures.
