Imran Khan's Sons Accuse Army Chief of Vendetta Against Father 2026

Imran Khan's sons have accused Pakistan's powerful army chief of a "personal vendetta" against their incarcerated father, expressing fears that the former prime minister is being "slowly killed" in jail. Kasim Khan, 27, and Sulaiman Khan, 29, have become vocal advocates for their father's release, speaking out from London as international pressure mounts over his prison conditions.

Who Are Imran Khan's Sons?

Kasim and Sulaiman Khan are the sons of Imran Khan and his first wife, Jemima Goldsmith. They have not been allowed to speak to their father for over six months and have been prevented from travelling from the UK to Pakistan to lobby for his release. Their accusations come amid growing concerns about Khan's health and treatment in Adiala prison in Rawalpindi, where he has been held since his arrest in 2023.

The Allegations Against the Army Chief

The brothers claim that Pakistan's army chief is personally targeting their father, who is serving a 14-year sentence on corruption charges. They describe the situation as a "personal vendetta" and fear for his life. "We are deeply, deeply concerned about our father's safety and well-being," they told the Guardian. "He is being slowly killed in jail."

Imran Khan's Prison Conditions

Imran Khan is being held in solitary confinement in a cell alleged to be just 6ft by 8ft. His family says he is denied access to private hospital treatment for a worsening eye condition and has been prevented from receiving visits or phone calls for more than six months, in violation of a court order. The supreme court is set to rule on a case alleging the Pakistan government has been in contempt of court for these violations.

International Pressure Mounts

International voices have increasingly called for Khan's release or better treatment. The United Nations has previously raised concerns about his detention. Meanwhile, Khan's political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which he founded in 1996, is planning a nationwide march later this month to demand his release.
