Liz Truss Relaunches Podcast on UKLive Channel 2026

Liz Truss relaunches her podcast on UKLive, a YouTube channel run by former TalkTV host Mike Graham, in a bid to expand her media presence. The former UK prime minister, whose tenure ended after a disastrous mini-budget, has struggled to attract a wide audience, with her previous podcast episodes often receiving fewer than 4,000 views on YouTube. Now, she is pivoting to a new platform that promises a fresh start for her political commentary.

Why Liz Truss Is Relaunching Her Podcast

Truss's initial foray into podcasting was marked by ambitious claims of leading a "counter-revolution" against the "deep state," which she accused of undermining her premiership. However, the expected surge in viewership never materialized. By joining UKLive, Truss aims to leverage the channel's existing audience and the notoriety of its host, Mike Graham, to boost her reach. This strategic move comes as she continues to position herself as a voice of conservative dissent.

The Rise of UKLive and Mike Graham

UKLive, which brands itself as "the home of common sense," has gained attention due to Graham's controversial style. Graham was dismissed from TalkTV after failing to cooperate with an investigation into a racist post on his Facebook account. He rose to fame after an on-air exchange where he questioned the sustainability of timber, leading to the memorable phrase "you can't grow concrete." His channel now provides a platform for like-minded commentators, including Truss.

Comparing Truss's Podcast Platforms

To understand the potential impact of this relaunch, it's helpful to compare her previous platform with UKLive:

Livestreaming on UKLive offers Truss the chance to engage directly with viewers in real time, a format that can foster a loyal community. The channel's provocative branding may attract a niche but dedicated audience, which could be more valuable than broad but passive viewership.

Key Takeaways from Truss's Media Strategy

• Platform Shift: Moving from a solo podcast to a collaborative channel can amplify reach.
• Audience Engagement: Livestreams allow for immediate interaction, building stronger connections.
• Controversy as Currency: Aligning with a polarizing figure like Graham can generate buzz and media coverage.
• Monetization Potential: Higher engagement rates may unlock advertising revenue that was previously unattainable.

Potential Implications for Truss's Political Future

This relaunch is not merely a media venture; it signals Truss's ongoing ambition to influence political discourse. By associating with UKLive, she may be courting a base that resonates with her free-market ideology and anti-establishment rhetoric. However, the association with Graham's controversies could also alienate mainstream viewers and limit her appeal beyond a narrow demographic.
