Real Madrid have secured a blockbuster deal for Yan Diomande, the RB Leipzig winger, after Paris Saint-Germain surprisingly withdrew from the transfer race. The Ivory Coast international, just 19 years old, is set to move to the Bernabéu for a fee reportedly well in excess of €100 million (£85 million). This marks a major victory for Real Madrid in one of the summer's most intense transfer sagas.
Why Did PSG Withdraw from the Diomande Transfer?
Paris Saint-Germain had been the frontrunners for Diomande, with many reports suggesting the player preferred a move to the French capital. However, after failing to agree a fee with RB Leipzig, PSG issued a formal statement on Sunday confirming their withdrawal. The club insisted they would not break their “principles of rational financial management and squad balance.” This left the door open for Real Madrid, who quickly moved ahead with an improved offer.

Leipzig had rejected Madrid’s initial proposal of €90 million plus €10 million in add-ons, but the Spanish giants returned with a higher bid that convinced the Bundesliga club to sell. Diomande has reportedly already agreed personal terms with Real and is expected to fly to Madrid for a medical.
