Spain's unbeaten run of 37 matches without a loss in normal or extra time has set a new European benchmark, equaling Italy's streak from 2018 to 2021. As they prepare for the World Cup final, this incredible record faces its ultimate test against a formidable opponent.
Spain's Historic Unbeaten Streak
Spain's 2-0 victory over France extended their unbeaten run, matching Italy's 37-match streak that included winning Euro 2020. Unlike Italy, however, Spain did lose the 2025 Nations League final on penalties, a technicality that keeps their record slightly asterisked. No South American team has ever achieved such a streak; Brazil went 36 matches unbeaten between 1993 and 1996, winning the 1994 World Cup, while Argentina equaled that from 2019 to 2022 before falling to Saudi Arabia.

Notably, Fabián Ruiz has played 49 times for Spain without ever losing a match (excluding shootouts), showcasing elite consistency.
