The Iran war has intensified after three US troops were killed in Iranian strikes, prompting Democrats to urge President Trump to halt the conflict immediately. The deaths of service members at Muwaffaq Salti air base in Jordan and in northern Iraq have sparked widespread anxiety over climbing casualties.
Democrats Demand De-escalation in Iran War
Democratic leaders, including Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut, have accused Trump of losing control of the Iran war. Murphy stated, “For those of us who pay attention to the hour-to-hour pace of the Iran War, things are getting very dark very quickly.” The calls for an end to hostilities come as US forces launched a 10th consecutive wave of attacks against Iranian targets.

Casualties and Political Fallout
The Pentagon released the names of two soldiers killed in Jordan: First Lieutenant Tyler James Feehan, 25, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Private Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas. A third service member died in a controlled detonation in Iraq, and remains of a possible fourth were found in Jordan. These losses have complicated moves to escalate the conflict.

Their sacrifice only stiffens our resolve.” In a brief phone call, Trump called the deaths “a very sad thing” but faced a chorus of Democratic calls to step back from his belligerent posture. Republicans remained largely supportive of the Iran war strategy.
