Argentina fans faced a bittersweet moment as Lionel Messi missed out on a perfect ending in the Copa America final, but their pride remained unshaken. After a tense match that went into extra time, Spain's Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal, leaving supporters in Buenos Aires grappling with mixed emotions. Yet, many found solace in their team's journey and historic achievements.
Argentina Fans Celebrate Effort Over Outcome
Outside an empanada shop in downtown Buenos Aires, fans gathered around TVs, their reactions a mix of groans and gestures. Julián Escalante, 20, a stretcher-bearer, reminded others: "We defeated Los Ingleses, man! And that's what matters." He emphasized that Argentina gave their all, saying, "We made it to the final. We made it to extra time. That's because we've got huevos."
