The FIFA President Gianni Infantino has been called to appear before Congress as part of an investigation into his ties with former President Donald Trump. House Judiciary Committee top Democrat Jamie Raskin sent a letter demanding documents related to gifts, payments, and communications between FIFA and Trump associates.
Investigation into Trump-FIFA Connections
The inquiry focuses on FIFA's office space in Trump Tower, which it acquired last year. Raskin also requested visitor logs and a transcribed interview with Infantino. The relationship came under scrutiny during the World Cup, especially after Trump awarded a newly created “FIFA peace prize” at the Kennedy Center.
