Xbox 25th Anniversary Series X: Special Edition for $900 2026

Xbox is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a special edition Xbox Series X that pays homage to the original translucent green console. Announced at the company's conference in June, this collector's item is priced at around $900 and is sure to excite fans.

A Nostalgic Design

The new Xbox Series X25 features a translucent green design dubbed 'OG Green,' reminiscent of the iconic original Xbox. This time, however, the transparency reveals some of the internal components of the Series X, offering a glimpse into its engineering.

According to hands-on impressions from Gamescom, the console is stunning in person, with renders failing to capture its beauty. The design incorporates plenty of plastic and aluminum for heat dissipation, maintaining the magic of classic translucent consoles.

Exclusive Features and Easter Eggs

Beyond the color and the 'Xbox 25' logo on the front, the design team has hidden several Easter eggs inside the console. These tributes can only be seen by opening the device, adding an element of discovery for collectors.

Each console also features a unique engraving with an individual number, making it a true collector's piece. The matching controller continues the theme with the same translucent green tone, which many find even more attractive.

Pricing and Availability

At around $900, this special edition is a premium offering. It is expected to be highly sought after by collectors and longtime Xbox fans. The console will launch on November 15, the same day the original Xbox was released in 2001. The longer history behind the story is traced in Gears of War E-Day Preview: Campaign and Horde Mode Impressions.

Given its limited nature, availability will likely be restricted, and pre-orders are expected to sell out quickly. Fans should keep an eye on official channels for announcements. The background to this story is set out in Nintendo GameCube 25th Anniversary: Small but Mighty Console. A related thread runs through Glashütte Original Sixties Iconic Collection, authentic sixties canvases. Earlier coverage in “Impressions”, by Glashütte Original shows how the argument developed.

What This Means for Xbox Fans

This anniversary edition not only celebrates Xbox's history but also reinforces the brand's commitment to its community. It's a nod to the past while showcasing the future of gaming hardware. A closer look at the same subject appears in September 11 25th Anniversary: Nation Pauses to Remember. Anyone following the wider picture can start with 9/11 Families Gather at Ground Zero for 25th Anniversary. The same theme surfaces in 9/11 25th Anniversary Ceremonies Honor Nearly 3,000 Victims, which takes a different angle.

For those who remember the original Xbox, this console offers a tangible connection to the early days of online gaming and franchises like Halo. It's a piece of gaming history that you can own and display. Context on how this played out before sits in 9/11 25th Anniversary: Quotes on Unity and Its Aftermath.
