Alan Jones allegedly kissed his driver in James Packer's personal suite at Crown Towers, a court has heard. The allegation emerged during the trial of the former broadcaster, who faces 20 indecent assault charges and two counts of sexual touching. Complainant C, a young man who worked as Jones's driver, gave emotional testimony at Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court on Monday.
Alleged Incident in James Packer's Suite
According to court testimony, the incident occurred in the early 2010s when Complainant C and a friend visited Melbourne for a sporting event. They joined Jones in his room at Crown Towers, which they knew was "nice" because it was Packer's personal suite. While watching Wimbledon on TV, a butler offered the young men drinks, and they sat on a couch with Jones drinking beer.

Jones allegedly offered to give C a private tour of the suite, saying "Come on [C] I'll take you on a tour." Leaving the friend in the lounge, Jones led C into a "pretty big" walk-in wardrobe. There, Jones allegedly said "I've missed you" and kissed him. C testified that he pushed Jones back, saying "Let's go back to [my friend]." The two then returned to the lounge, and C did not tell his friend what had happened.
Legal Context and Charges
Alan Jones has pleaded not guilty to all charges. The prosecution, led by Georgina Wright, is presenting evidence from multiple complainants. James Packer, who was executive chairman of Crown Resorts at the time, is not accused of any wrongdoing. The trial continues to hear testimony from alleged victims, with C being the second to give evidence.
C stated he told friends and family about the abuse after he stopped working for Jones. He later spoke to journalists Peter FitzSimons and Kate McClymont at the Sydney Morning Herald. He also revealed that "romantic" and "intimate" text messages from Jones continued for years after he left 2GB radio, and he felt pressured to invite Jones to his wedding to stay in his favour.
