Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks to sign Liam Delap from Chelsea, as the club looks to bolster its attacking options before the transfer window closes. The 23-year-old striker has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge and is training away from the first team under Xabi Alonso.
Delap's Situation at Chelsea
Liam Delap joined Chelsea from Ipswich Town but has struggled for game time, being left out of the squad for their recent match against Fulham. With the arrival of new signings, Delap's opportunities have been limited, prompting interest from Nottingham Forest.

Forest had previously shown interest in Delap before he chose Chelsea, and now they are keen to bring him to the City Ground. The deal would provide Delap with a fresh start and regular first-team football.
Forest's Transfer Ambitions
Head coach Oliver Glasner is eager to strengthen his squad further, aiming for at least two more signings. He has implemented a three-man defence and is also looking to add quality at wing-back. Glasner expressed confidence in the club's ability to secure deals, stating, "The club is working very hard to get these deals done."
Forest have already made three summer signings: Ousmane Diomande, Xaver Schlager, and Steven Benda, with Diomande costing £34 million from Sporting. Adding Delap would be a significant statement of intent.
Upcoming Fixtures and Team News
Nottingham Forest host Leeds United in the Carabao Cup second round on Tuesday, a rematch of their Premier League defeat last Saturday. Morgan Gibbs-White will miss the game due to a knee problem, but the club hopes he will be available for the trip to Liverpool on Saturday.
